Reviving a Heritage Arcade Game
If you told us in design school, “Some day you’ll be working on THE original brand of arcade basketball games,” we’d sneer at you, laugh, and go back to listening to embarrassing music. Well guess what, suckers!!! Pop-A-Shot, THE Pop-A-Shot, hired us for a full rebrand and website overhaul! Invented by a college basketball coach in Kansas in the 80’s, the Pop-A-Shot product line has since evolved into a broad portfolio of cool arcade-style basketball games. Being (mostly) good ol’ Indiana boys, we delved deep into the wholesome, vibrant visual tradition of basketball to build a new identity for this storied heritage brand.
Gloating aside, check out their new website. We’ve equipped Pop-A-Shot up with a custom eCommerce platform that their employees can update themselves. There’s a robust backend to manage inventory and oversee orders. Stay tuned as their blog is updated; it’ll become a solid content marketing platform for them. Marvel at their high quality basketball gaming options; perhaps even irresponsibly consider dipping into your savings to buy one? You don’t really need that breakfast nook. When you’re sinking basket after basket and talking trash to your 8 year old opponents, you’ll probably feel as good as we did when we landed this project.
I considered a lot of design firms (literally from across the country) before settling on CODO, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. From our first discussion and meeting to the project’s conclusion, they were accessible and reliable. They completed the work on time and on budget (and were fun to work with along the way).
